Hinding Tennis Serving Up Winners with 10 and Under Courts

Tennis court builder Tom Hinding is used to painting traditional white lines and repairing surface cracks. But the uptick of 10 and Under Tennis projects he's done this year is testament to the fact that the age-appropriate format for teaching kids to play the game is here to stay.

Hinding Tennis has completed over 200 10 and Under Tennis projects in the last year alone. Some New England highlights include Guilford Racquet Club in CT; Chelsea Piers in CT; Manchester Athletic Club in MA; South Kingston Park & Recreation Department in RI as well as numerous other clubs, colleges & park and recreations.

As Racquet Sports Industry Magazine's "10 and Under Tennis Facility Developer of the Year", Hinding Tennis has been part of the USTA initiative from the beginning.

"It is always a pleasure being involved with USTA," said Hinding. "We are constantly educating club owners, pros and individuals on the importance of this child-friendly format. I've really seen a rise in the number of clubs and facilities that are starting to utilize this format. It's definitely the way teaching is moving for kids."

"I worked closely with Tom to develop our new courts," said Gigi Fernandez, Tennis Director for Chelsea Piers. "We couldn't be more pleased with the work that he did at our new complex."

Owner Sarah Boone at Guilford Racquet Club contracted with Hinding Tennis to build permanent 10 and Under courts for their new programming and concurred with Fernandez. "We are overwhelmed by the response and kids that have gotten involved with this great concept. The kids are developing much quicker and we see a growth in our programming. Hinding Tennis' work ethic and construction was beyond superior," Boone stated.
